Summary

Worth Capital have a unique process to unearth some of the UK’s most exciting start-ups from the crowded market of entrepreneurs seeking funding. Worth Capital are the engine behind the Start Up Series – a high profile search across the UK for talented entrepreneurs. The competition is promoted by Startups.co.uk, the leading website for new businesses – with 380k unique monthly visitors. The competition is open each month. After a rigorous 8 week distillation process, worthy winners are selected to receive EIS/ SEIS eligible equity funding, subject to further technical due diligence and approvals.

The Start-Up Series Fund invests in the competition winners, creating a diversified portfolio of S/EIS investments for investors in each tranche of investment. The competition and the fund search for product, services and sales channels in underserved and/or growth markets, with the potential to change consumption behaviours and build loved brands.  

Worth Capital’s founders are experts in brand, marketing, retail and innovation sectors and who have been angel investing for over 12 years. They have an proven record of seed investing and actively helping entrepreneurs to turn their ideas into successful, sustainable and fast-growing businesses. 

The fund is managed by Amersham Investment Management, a specialist FCA authorised and regulated investment management firm  (FRN 507460) focused on  start-up funding and early stage venture capital, with current £34m­­­­­­­­­­­ AUM (prior to disposals).

Deployment

The Start-Up Series Fund anticipates an EIS close by 31 July 2019.  Applications accepted through the Kuber platform by 26 July 2019 will have funds deployed in the current tax year. We also anticipate an SEIS close around the end of September 2019.
